Cambridgeshire based Contractor require a Quantity Surveyor with water industry experience to join their business on a permanent salaried basis. In this role you will be responsible for a small team working on commercial management. The team you will manage is working on potable water main installations, repairs and maintenance. This work includes new connections, new lay mains for developments, diversions around developments, pipebursting, leakage reduction, meter installations both inside and out, burst repairs both reactive and planned. This is a Project Management Contract on behalf of a Water Company and as such, the role requires the successful candidate to have well developed client facing skills as the role will require regular liaison with the client. In this role you will be responsible for the financial control of the contract, including but not limited to the following, The contractual management of 4 contractors including monthly valuations, invoice sanctioning, and performance monitoring. Financial reporting to the client on up to 5,000 contracts per year. Internal financial reporting and invoicing of our costs to the Water Company. Budgeting and cash flow forecasting of future planned contracts. Suggesting and implementing efficiency improvements during the contract duration.

The successful candidate will need to be self managing and familiar with bespoke contracts. They will need to be experienced in the management of sub contractors, with at least 5 years post qualification experience in the industry. You will need to be Cambridge / East Anglia based and computer literate with familiarity of Excel and Word.
